About the teacher: Rachel Jones – Yoga Instructor – Rachel found yoga in 2001 while practicing with a Rodney Yee VHS in her home (that’s right, VHS), and has discovered a multitude of therapeutic benefits; physically, mentally and spiritually! After living with asthma and anxiety for many years, yoga was the tool that helped empower her to explore the connection with her breath as a form of self-healing. As she learned more about pranayama and meditation in her practice, she knew she wanted to somehow share with others the incredible power of the breath! She continued to turn to her yoga practice over the years for support in the daily grind of the corporate world as she suffered from sciatica pain, back issues and a running injury. In 2009 she was turned on to Anusara yoga and learned how to integrate skillful physical alignment on and off the mat. After journeying through a variety of yoga experiences over the years, beginning in Orlando, then Northern Virginia and now Raleigh, Rachel was inspired by Kundalini and Anusara offerings, and went on to graduate from the Abundant Heart School of Yoga with Lila Rasa Brown in Raleigh with her 200 hr. RYT certification in Rasa Yoga.

Rachel integrates skillful breathing (pranayama) connected with clear physical alignment principles and a rich philosophical background into her classes. She invites students to embrace their authentic nature through self-love and compassion and practice what yoga means to them. Rachel provides a welcoming space that allows students to be playful and explore freedom through movement.

By day, Rachel is an Environment Engineer and resides in Holly Springs with her husband Todd, and daughters, Clementine and Olive.
